The growth of green infrastructure in India is increasingly driven by environmental sustainability goals, urbanization challenges, and climate resilience needs. However, the legal and regulatory framework governing green infrastructure remains complex, evolving, and often fragmented. This study critically examines the legal landscape shaping green infrastructure development in India, assessing policy effectiveness, regulatory challenges, and enforcement mechanisms. Key legislations, including the Environment Protection Act (1986), the National Green Tribunal Act (2010), and policies under the Smart Cities
